Our Lady of the Fields-3 (1)

From today’s Scripture: “She walks with him as a stranger…”—Sir 4:17

America is seen as a home to immigrants. We are built by immigrants. Our Lady of the Fields is an immigrant, too. She cries with and hears the cries of immigrants who are forced to leave their homeland, as she was once forced to leave her own. She embraces the toils and sufferings of the immigrant people.

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, help me to see your face in the face of immigrants near and far. Put the warmth of your Blessed Mother in my heart today. Our Lady of the Fields, pray for us!

Today’s author is Glenmary Brother Thomas Nguyen, currently assigned in Martin County, North Carolina, for his mission immersion as a part of his advanced missionary formation.
