5th Thursday in Ordinary Time

Winter OT Email Header 2024-3

From today’s Scripture: Jesus went to the district of Tyre. He entered a house and wanted no one to know about it, but he could not escape notice.”—Mk 7:24

Can we say with this Gospel that in our own lives Christ is unable to escape notice? Are we aware that he might be in the neighborhood of our own thoughts or in the face of the poor we may walk past without notice? Let us be attentive, even today, to the reality that Christ is in our midst if only we take notice.

Let us pray: Father, you sent your Son into the world to save it and to make your love and reconciliation known. Give us the eyes to see you in our midst today.
