From today’s Scripture: “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”—Jn 6:40

Jesus promises, and he keeps his promises. We must see him with the eyes of faith. We must believe in him. How do we come to believe with our whole heart, mind, soul, strength? We need to spend time with Jesus. Know him. Love him. Serve him.

How can we believe in someone we do not know? Be immersed in his word and come to faith in him. How can we believe in someone we do not love? Relationships come from being touched by loving him and his people. How can we believe in someone we do not serve? We do this by serving him and all those who are his, especially those who are poor and needy in any way. He promises us eternal life and resurrection on the last day. Believe! Rejoice!

Let us pray: Lord, help me to believe in your promises and live my life filled with faith in you. Open my heart to know you, love you, and serve you.
