From today’s Scripture: “As a result of this, many of his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer walked with him.” —Jn 6:66
Whoa! I just typed that scripture reference. 666 is often used to refer to the evil one, the devil or Satan. Many of his disciples left Jesus as Satan had left the way of God. When have we no longer walked with Jesus? Jesus never walks away from us. His love and mercy are unconditional and abundant.
Walk again with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. Recognize him in the breaking of the bread. Believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Stop! Pray! Share your joy and faith in Jesus with someone who is near to walking away. Invite someone back who has walked away.
Let us pray: Jesus, I believe. Help my unbelief. Never let me walk away from you. Guide me on the path of faith and love.
