From today’s Scripture: “When Jesus saw her, he called to her and said, ‘Woman, you are set free of your infirmity.’”—Lk 13:12

That woman had been bent over for eighteen years, and Jesus lifts her up. I think of my own burdens, those that weigh me down inside and make me lose hope. Jesus doesn’t ignore her; he calls her, touches her, and lifts her up. It’s the same with me: in my weariness, he looks at me with compassion and restores to me the joy of praising.

Let us pray: Jesus, I come to you with my burdens and my worries. Show me the compassion and joy that you offer no matter my circumstances.
