From today’s Scripture: “For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed.”—Jn 3:20
My daughter is still learning right from wrong and the consequences associated with her actions. Lately, she will run and hide when she knows she did something we don’t favor. We find her flustered, upset, trying to cover her tracks.
I might be a ‘grown up’ but I still find it hard to fess up when I’ve not done my best too. It seems easier to hide than to face the harsh realities before us. Just like we offer forgiveness to our children, we as believers need to remember that God offers us the same, if we just go towards the light and seek out his kindness and truth.
Let us pray: God, help me to remember that living in your light is so much more beautiful than the dark shadows we try to escape to. Thank you for your forgiveness.
