From today’s Scripture: “I have come to set fire on earth.”—Lk 12:49

During Glenmary’s 2023 Chapter, we passed a ‘vision statement’ of sorts, called To Set Hearts on Fire. This document outlined Glenmary’s rich, living, and inspirational charism which is guiding us now and into the future. Here is a short part of the introduction to that document:

“To set hearts on fire with the unconditional love of God the Father, the Glenmary Home Missioners—a community of priests and brothers, together with men in formation and coworkers—joyfully and faithfully embrace the charism given by the Holy Spirit to Glenmary’s founder Father William Howard Bishop (1885-1953), to continue the mission of Jesus in small towns and rural areas of the United States.”

Let us join together to continue to set hearts on fire with the unconditional love of Jesus!

Let us pray: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
