From today’s Scripture: “And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan.”—Lk 17:15-16
Several years ago, I diligently prayed to God for the virtue of patience. That same week, I received a project at work that was time consuming and tedious and, in my opinion, a waste of my time. But a few frustrating hours into the project, I remembered how I prayed for patience.
From that moment, I began to think of the project as a gift from God, and it changed my whole attitude. Instead of being frustrated, I was joyful in completing it. When we remember to thank God first, it can change the entire outlook of our day.
Let us pray: Lord, thank you. Thank you for the gift of this new day. May I use the gifts you have given me today to glorify you.
