From today’s Scripture: “Rather, we were gentle among you, as a nursing mother cares for her children. With such affection for you, we were determined to share with you not only the gospel of God but our very selves as well, so dearly beloved had you become to us.”—1 Thes 2:7-8
Close your eyes a minute and picture a nursing mother and her joy and love for her child. Paul compares this scene of gentle love to his love for those he ministers to for Jesus. Imagine the look of love Jesus gave to those who gathered to listen to him. Now you and every person are called to be that love to every one we see every day. Rest a moment in that joy that comes with love. Be still and know that God is love.
Let us pray: Jesus, look on me with your gentle loving eyes and help me to reflect your look of love to those around me this day. I love you Lord, my strength, and I ask you to use me for spreading your love.
