From today’s Scripture: “Let the sea and what fills it resound, the world and those who dwell in it; Let the rivers clap their hands, the mountains shout with them for joy.”—Ps 98:7-8
The psalms are the prayer book of the Bible. We use them for daily morning and evening prayer as well as other hours of prayer. We pray them at every liturgy. Here we join with the prayer of all creation. Find God and praise him in a day of refreshing observance of the wonders and beauty of what God has made. Look to the sea, the mountains, the rivers, and the plains. See and hear the birds and flowers, the butterflies and rabbits. Again experience the joy found there, and praise God.
Let us pray: Lord I walk amidst all your created beauty. How wonderful you are! How blessed I am! Help us always to care for all of creation and give thanks to you for every creature large and small.
