Being a missioner

From today’s Scripture: Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.’”—Mt 9:37-38

By our baptism, we are made sharers in Christ’s mission as priest, prophet, and king. We are all called to be missioners, to spread the good news of Christ and to reflect his love through our words and actions.

There is much to do to promote the kingdom of God. Yes, the Church in the west is lacking in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We must pray for an increase in these vocations. We must also pray that all baptized individuals will respond to their baptismal call to be missioners in this world that is hungering for Christ.

Let us pray: Lord help me always to respond, “Here I am Lord, send me.”
