Second Tuesday of Easter

Daily Reflection

Second Tuesday of Easter

Everything in common

From today’s Scripture: The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” —Jn 3:8

In answering the confused Nicodemus,  Jesus refers to the collective we when describing the testimony of the action of God. We are those moved by the Spirit, who have heard and believed the Gospel.

These Spirit-led people, this born-from-above people do things that seem confusing to others. We care for one another. We seek unity at all costs. We have everything in common. This bride of Christ, born from his wounded side, manifests the new creation in the world and from them flow rivers of living water.

Let us pray: Lord, renew in me today the spirit of my Baptism. Let me see in those waters from your very side the renewal of all creation–including me!
