Daily Reflection

Saints Cornelius and Cyprian

Encourage the good.

From today’s Scripture: Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.”—Lk 6:19

From today’s Scripture: “‘For every tree is known by its own fruit.’”—Lk 6:44

Jesus makes it very clear in today’s Gospel that a good person produces good, while an evil person produces evil. When we do acts of goodness, our actions will encourage others to do good. We can influence a whole group to bring about the Good News, and on the other hand we can encourage others to do evil when we do evil. What do we choose?

Let us pray:  Loving Lord, you have given me free will to help bring light and hope to the world. Guide me, Lord!
