The faithful service and hard work of Glenmary Home Missioners’ priests, brothers and coworkers often causes others to take note. In an effort to share that notice with Glenmary’s supporters, below are several stories relating to Glenmary that appeared in the Catholic or secular press during the month of June 2018.

June 1 –  Supporting diocesan efforts

June 3 —International news

Father Steve Pawelk is quoted in this article by British newspaper The Independent on the topic of the same raid. Learn more.

June 14 — Still helping after the fact 

Father Steve Pawelk is quoted in an article looking at how Grainger County is still recovering from the ICE raid that detained nearly 100 people in April. Specifically, Father Steve notes his mission gave out nearly $8,000 in assistance for utilities, rent, and other basic bills to families who lost the ability to bring in income. Learn more.

June 22 — Former student, future priest

Shawn Roser, a former Glenmary student, will be ordained a transitional deacon with the Diocese of Venice, Fla. on July 14. Learn more.
