Brother Larry Johnson, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, was elected to his first term as second vice president in 2015. Since 2012, he has been involved in youth and social outreach ministry in Lafayette, Tenn., and in Scottsville, Ky. (until 2014). He has also been serving as Glenmary’s personnel director since 2006 and as a co-convenor of its Commission on Justice since 2000. Brother Johnson earlier served as youth minister in Warren and Monticello, Ark., and evangelization minister in Sautee, Ga. and has dedicated six of his 37 years in Glenmary to vocation and formation ministry. He took his First Glenmary Oath in 1978 and his Final Oath in 1984. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Maryland and a master of pastoral studies degree from Loyola University (Chicago).
