Visit Shrines of Mexico with Fr. Steve

UPDATE: Because of the coronavirus pandemic, this pilgrimage has been rescheduled to October 2021.

Glenmary Father Steve Pawelk is hosting a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Shrines of Mexico. The 10-day journey runs from Nov. 2-11.

“The purpose of this pilgrimage to is deepen your faith by visiting sacred sites of Mexico,” Father Steve said. “This includes places of miracles, shrines of martyrs, relics of saints, as well as three major sites: San Juan de los Lagos, Cristo Rey and the Basilica of Guadalupe.”

The highlight of the trip may well be the Basilica of Guadalupe. It is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world and home to the tilma of Juan Diego. The tilma is the cloak upon which the Blessed Virgin Mary left her image after appearing to Juan Diego several times in 1531. It has since become and international icon venerated by millions.

Pilgrims on the journey will benefit from Father Steve’s many local friends in Mexico who will join them at various sites to give a local perspective.
