Daily Reflection

4th Wednesday of Easter

Light of Christ

From today’s Scripture: “‘I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.’”Jn 12:46

My Grandma used to say, “better to light a candle than curse the darkness.” My grandfather was frugal and often Grandma had to remind him as he stumbled literally and figuratively in the dark.

Just as Grandma’s candle reveals what is hidden in the darkness of the room, the Light of Christ reveals God’s word and what is hidden from us. We only need to open our eyes and ears and listen as the end of today’s reading points out what Jesus says. He says as the Father told him. There couldn’t be a better source of Light.

Let us pray: Lord, as we stumble through our life, let us accept the light that you offer us to find our way.
