Eric Odongo Okeyo, 25, is also a Luo from Kisumu, Kenya. He is the eldest son of Joshua and Sabina Odongo and has eight brothers and sisters. Eric spent a short time with the Missioners of St. Patrick before asking to transfer to Glenmary to pursue his desire to serve the home missions in the rural United States. He has been involved with his local parish, St. Francis Riwo Catholic Church, in teaching catechism, especially the sacramental classes for baptism and confirmation. This past year, he built his own home and has worked with the Dominican Community of Kisumu. He has worked with the terminally ill at the St. Catherine’s Hospice house, organized records for the Father Tom’s kids orphanage and as a driver and assistant to the Dominican vocation director. Eric plans to pursue missionary brotherhood with Glenmary.
