Call to Mission    October 2007
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fr. Dominic Duggins As a missionary, we Glenmarians move around quite a bit. We establish friendships and roots in a community, always knowing that eventually we will move on and start all over again. Although it's not always easy to move on, we know we aren't severing ties altogether. As I was talking with some of my fellow missioners, we laughed as we listed the many families that we are considered members of—and that we consider ourselves members of. Needless to say, we typically don't have a hard time finding some place to spend the holidays or birthdays or to have Sunday dinner! You, too, as faithful supporters to Glenmary, are part of those extended families. Without your continued support of prayers, financial gifts and volunteer hours, it would not be possible for us to be present and serve our mission communities. So thank you on behalf of all those we serve.
—Father Dominic Duggins, Development Director
After the ICE Storm
One year ago, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raided areas of Emmanuel County, Ga., including the city of Stillmore. Father John Brown, pastor of Glenmary missions in Swainsboro, Metter and Stillmore, Ga., is still reaching out to the depleted population of Stillmore.
