Record number from across the country attend annual event

A record number of donors gathered at Glenmary Headquarters on Oct. 5 for the annual President’s Gathering.

Glenmary president Father Dan Dorsey thanked the 44 mission benefactors and mission supporters—donors who have given over $1,000 to Glenmary in the past fiscal year—for their commitment to the home missions, their generosity and most especially for their prayers.

The day-long event included a presentation by Sister Mary Jean Morris, pastoral coordinator of Glenmary’s Bruce, Miss., mission and Jettie Pettit, a member of the mission who spoke about her conversion to Catholicism. Jettie also spoke about the role Glenmary missioners played in that conversion and continue to play in the Calhoun County community.

The afternoon also included a Mass celebrated by Father Dan and a luncheon at the Glenmary residence.

“The response we received this year was amazing,” says Father Dan. “It was so good to see familiar faces and to get to know the new folks who attended.”
